Priceline Helps Feed Over 900 Families This Winter
Every year, the Norwalk-based Priceline team makes an annual pilgrimage to Costco to shop and deliver food to the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County. After a virtual food drive last year, the team was able to gather in person again in support of the Food Bank this Thanksgiving.
In just a few weeks, employees collectively donated $49,262 to the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County. With a corporate match, the team raised $98,524 to help feed Fairfield locals in need this Thanksgiving. Employee volunteers spent the day shopping, loading and unloading the donations directly to the food pantry’s shelves, shuttled in a moving truck donated by Budget.
Priceline’s donation included 3 moving trucks full of food, weighing in at just over 8 tons of food. The food donation included 375 turkeys, 2,260 canned and jarred goods – including fruits, vegetables and tuna, 600 personal care items, 520 boxes of pasta, and 260 jumbo boxes of cereal and oatmeal.
“Though we’re still working remotely, Priceline remains committed to giving back to the community. For the first time since the pandemic started, we are gathering together in person to hold our Holiday Food Drive,” said Brett Keller, CEO of Priceline. “The pandemic has been an incredibly difficult time and we are proud that the efforts of the drive will feed over 900 families in our community for an entire month.”
“Seeing the invisible need, feeling the intangible and helping The Food Bank achieve the impossible, defines what Priceline does for us each year,” said Kate Lombardo, Executive Director of the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County. “Every year, Priceline humbles us by donating food and monetary gifts to help give thousands of households a proper Thanksgiving meal. More than that, Priceline gives the gift of empathy for those who have so little.”
